Watch: Ben White attempts to loosen Guglielmo Vicario’s gloves moments before Arsenal’s first goal in the North London derby

The North London derby unfolded in the most thrilling of manners as Arsenal grabbed a crucial win over their local rivals. Tottenham Hotspur were unable to stand in front of Arsenal’s title charge late into the season as the Gunners put three past Spurs. While all three of Arsenal’s goals were worthy of praise, a moment captured by the cameras has called for a lot of debate on social media.

Arsenal’s first goal of the game came in the 15th minute from a corner. While it was Spurs defender Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg that unfortunately headed the ball into his own net, Ben White was seen very sneakily attempting to loosen Guglielmo Vicario ‘s gloves!

It is no secret that White has time and again been assigned the role of distracting the opposition keeper during corners. However, his actions yesterday have caused commotion on football X, with many fans calling for the goal to be disallowed.

Others said that the Gunners wouldn’t have scored so many goals from corners if the officials actually paid attention to such things!

Arsenal pick up crucial win over Tottenham in fiery North London derby

3-2 read the final score as an electrifying North London derby came to an eventful close at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Even though Arsenal were cruising 3-0 by the 38th minute, two late goals from Tottenham upped the ante in the final minutes.

Following the win, Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League table , with 80 points in 34 games. Manchester City are trailing by a single point while also having a game in hand.

The game sparked to life in the 15th minute, when Arsenal took the lead from a corner kick. Hojbjerg’s unlucky header found the way into his own net before Bukayo Saka doubled their lead from a sublime solo effort. His grounded shot was quickly followed up with a header from Kai Havertz , who celebrated emphatically with the home crowd.

Cristian Romero gave Tottenham a ray of hope as he found the net from a David Raya error. The final ten minutes of the game became interesting as the referee awarded Spurs a penalty which Son Heung-min dispatched with ease. However, his goal proved to be too little too late as Arsenal clinched victory on the night.
