Inter Milan have clear ideas for when they want Simone Inzaghi, Nicolo Barella, and Lautaro Martinez to sign contract extensions.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Nerazzurri want all three to commit their futures before the start of next season.

Inter’s priority in the coming months is not going to be rebuilding the team.

The Nerazzurri have just won the Serie A title, and in dominant fashion. Last time around, they reached the Champions League final.

The feeling is clearly that there is still more to come from this group of players.

Therefore, the biggest priority, rather than making big and flashy signings, will be to keep the core of this team intact.

And there are three key contract extensions at the heart of this aim.

When Inter Want To Extend Inzaghi, Barella & Lautaro Deals

The first to put pen to paper on a new deal should be coach Simone Inzaghi.

The 48-year-old is currently under contract with Inter until the end of next June. The club are offering an extension until the end of June 2027.

The Gazzetta report that there could already be a meeting with Inzaghi’s agent next week.

In any event, the newspaper anticipate, Inter want to see their coach commit his future by the end of the current season.

Then, it will be time for two key players who are both under contract with Inter until the end of June 2026 – midfielder Nicolo Barella and captain and striker Lautaro Martinez.

The Gazzetta report that Barella is the closer of the duo to signing a new deal.

Inter and Barella have essentially already agreed terms on a new deal.

Now it is just a matter of Nerazzurri owners Suning giving the official go-ahead to make the contract official. That should come once the owners sort out a new loan from PIMCO that will keep them at the helm.

Meanwhile, more negotiations are necessary with captain Lautaro Martinez.

To date, the Argentine has rejected Inter’s offers as not being high enough.

But the Gazzetta anticipate that Inter should reach a figure of around €9 million net per season plus add-ons.

That would be a significant increase from the €6 million net per season that Martinez currently earns.

And the captain has absolutely no intention other than to stay at Inter. That should mean that an agreement is not too hard to find.

Inter want this to happen before the start of next season, the Gazzetta reports.
