The Packers continue to add depth to the offensive line with the selection of OT Travis Glover from Georgia State in the 6th round.
This 6’5″ 332 lb 5 year player started in 57 games. 53 of those games came in at Tackle, and he also started 4 games at Guard.
According to Joseph Randolph of CheeseheadTV…
“He has a 4.71 RAS as an OT, definitely going to shift to Guard at the next level…”
Here’s a breakdown of his college years according to a report from Packers.com
Here’s a great look at Glover’s gameplay from DraftNastySportsNetwork.TV
With the additions of Jordan Morgan and Jacob Monk earlier in the draft, there’s certainly going to be a lot of competition to find the “Best 5” that Matt and Gutey love to talk about. It will be interesting to see how things shake out given the current room’s talent and my personal favorite Caleb Jones still in the mix.
Glover’s size and raw athletics lend to him being a powerhouse in the run zone scheme, and with his strength he could easily help open running lanes at interior line. His experience at Tackle also offers depth on the left side to keep Jordan safe on his blind side.
