Buddy the Elf would be so proud of Will Ferrell right now.
Tuesday afternoon (July 6), Ryan Reynolds tweeted a photo (and posted identically to Instagram) of his first day starring opposite Ferrell in Apple's forthcoming musical Spirited:
Day 1 shooting with one of my comedy idols, Will Ferrell. You'd barely notice this was an @Apple movie!

Directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, the project is a brand new adaptation of Charles Dickens's classic novel A Christmas Carol that will include an original soundtrack (h/t Deadline).
Anders and Morris previously collaborated on comedies such as We're the Millers (2013), Horrible Bosses 2 (2014), Daddy's Home (2015), Daddy's Home 2 (2017) and Instant Family (2018). Ferrell co-led both Daddy's Home installments with Mark Wahlberg.
Spirited, reportedly expected to film in the Boston area through October, will also star Octavia Spencer and Sunita Mani.
